How to Choose Furnace Filter
(Updated in 2020 Oct) If we live in a house and we furnace, we need to change the air filter on the furnace every few months, unless you are using a permanent fileter.
Disposable Furnace Filter or Permanent Furnace Filter ?
Permanent filters are not as effective as Non-permanent (Disposable) filters. The permanent filters require regular cleaning. But ordinary households do not have professional cleaning equipment to clean the so-called permanent filters.
Disposable Furnace Filter are professionally pre-treated before leaving the manufactory. It's actually better than permanent.
We recommend that you use good quality disposable air filter and replace it with new one every few months.
You have to know the size of your furnace air filter. Common furnace filter sizes are as follows:
14x16x1 14x20x1 14x25x1
16x16x1 16x20x1 16x24x1 16x25x1
20x20x1 20x24x1 20x25x1.
The most commonly used size in houses of ordinary residents in North America is 16x25x1 in North America, also 14x25x1 is used in some other houses.
MPR – Microparticle Performance Rating:
MPR is a professional parameter on a furnace air filter. MPR indicates the air filter's capability of filtering micro particles for air.
Normally, if MPR is bigger, the filter is better. But you have to find a balance between larger MPR parameters and stronger wind.

Generally, a single filter can be used for 3 months, so in general, it should be replaced every 3 months.
But in many cases it depends on your room. Different houses have different replacement times for the furniture filter. For example, if your house is in a dusty area, you may have to replace it every 2 months.
You must observe more to get the best replacement time for the furnace filter in your house. Don't let a filter be used too long.
